Tamil Nadu is a south-eastern state along with kerala on the west in the indian subcontinent. It is amongst the 29 states of india. Tamilnadu is famed for its traditional culture, heritage and cuisine. Formerly, Tamilnadu belonged to the Madras Province. After the linguistic partition, it was separated from the province and named as tamilnadu. The language spoken here by the people is “TAMIL” which is the oldest and the first language of all the languages in the world. Tamilnadu’s cultural history has been continuing since over 4,000 years ago.
Architecture in Tamil Nadu is the most phenomenal one in the country, especially the temples and palaces which built by the three crowned kings and the later pallavas. The famous “Dravidian Style”(also referred to as south indian style, for north india it is called as nagara style & gandhara art) of architecture, which has spire(which known as vimana in india) on the sanctum and the tower in the entrance, was the most remarkable temple architecture in India.
The state has a living tradition of music, dance, folk arts, fine arts and other handcrafts. The state, in the tourism industry has an annual growth rate at 16%, which is the largest tourism industry in India. Temple towns and heritage places, hill stations, waterfalls, national parks, local food and the natural environment and wildlife are making it the most popular state for tourism in the country.
